Municipal Election Day
After attending the Environmental Improvement Board’s (EIB) hearing in Santa Fe regarding the New Energy Economy’s (NEE) petition to cap our energy usage……I have to say it just reinforces why I am running for the United States Congress. Sitting there waiting for my opportunity to comment to a non-elected board who have their minds made up with regard to destroying our economy, is like listening to Ben Ray Lujan, Jr. I want to save everyone’s time and energy by having the decision making authority of sitting in the 3rd Congressional District Seat in the United States House. New Mexicans need a congressman who understands energy and the climate debate in detail. I look forward to debating Rep. Lujan on green jobs, sustainability, climate, and the proper role of the Federal Government.
I will hold these non-elected bureaucrats accountable (EPA and related State funitionaries) for their activities and their decisions. The Federal EPA is the source for much of these misguided policies within New Mexico. It is time we change out our governor, many of our elected representatives, and of course our congressional delegation.
A big thank you to Paul Gessing and the Rio Grande foundation for hosting the candidate forum last night between my opponent and I. I encourage folks to watch the video of the event when it is available. We will put up a link to the video as soon as it is available, as well as the Farmington, NM debate from 2 weeks ago.
Please do not forget to vote in your local elections. Today is the day. Elections and important decisions are often decided by a razor thin margin of voters. Contact your local county clerk or city clerk’s office for more information.
