It is nice to be back home for a few days. Last Feb 27th, the first modern tea party was held in Chicago, IL and today in Farmington, there were well over 250 patriots who attended this event. Thank you to the many wonderful speakers with the consistent message that our freedom and liberty must be fought for every day and at every level. We cannot let our guard down. We must redouble our efforts to support candidates at the local, county, state, and national level who hold the values we hold dear:
Limited government, protection of the Constitution, lower taxes, increased personal responsibility, and a strong national defense (including ourselves as the militia). As Aaron Lee stated, we must be able to tell our children and grandchildren that we did everything we possibly could to protect our individual liberty. Become more involved in politics and in your community. Teach your children our founding principles and about our founding fathers-mothers. When you are looking for a leader who appears to share these values……trust but verify should be your motto. Ask hard questions and do your own research to ensure these folks are not chamelons. Get to know your leaders at all levels. Develop the passion and drive that you place into sports, family, and church. With your help our nation can turn from Socialism this November 2nd. God bless everyone who participated today. Remember Monday, March 1st is the New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board Public Comment hearing on the “Carbon Cap Petition”. I look forward to serving you in Washington.
I had the pleasure of meeting with many business folks at the 30th Annual Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce Meeting. Both small business owners and executives at major businesses in the area heard from various chamber chairs and outgoing chairman Doug Clark.
We must have a healthy private sector to fund the public sector. Rep. Lujan’s actions continue to burden private businesses with additional costs and mandates which cause additional jobs to be lost. I look forward to visiting with more members of the Rio Rancho business community in the coming weeks.

I am pleased with the results of this electronic poll. It agrees with what folks have been telling us as we travel the district. Rep. Lujan has unfavorable ratings across the board because he has voted against his constituents wishes. We are on target with our message of restoring our Federal Government to its original limited intent. Rep. Lujan is out of touch with New Mexicans as he continues to push for greater government control of our health care and our energy.
Rep. Lujan’s wealth and family name will not protect him from the voter’s disdain for him avoiding real town hall debates and forums, along with his Nancy Pelosi directed votes. I will continue to listen to New Mexicans of the 3rd District and my votes in Congress will represent their conservative Constitutional values. We can win this seat for people with your help. If you can, please donate to our effort, if you can only volunteer, please do that. If you can do both. Then extra special thanks. We are on target for victory on November 2nd.
Yesterday, we again visited with folks in Portales at the Agricultural Expo. This event brought people from out of state to exhibit to area farmers and ranchers. The dairy industry in Eastern New Mexico has been under assault, but at least from comments that I heard, they are ‘barely breaking even’ at the moment. New Mexico and our nation need to have a strong healthy agricultural industry along with a strong energy industry. These good folks do not want subsidies, they want a fair price for their product that is not distorted by government involvement and over-regulation.
We visited with several folks in Clovis and met a lively GOP group in Tucumcari (Quay County), where Rep. Lujan will be making a cameo appearance this Saturday. He is holding office hrs 1230 to 2 pm. So arrive early for your 5 mins of time. I want to thank the good folks in Quay for turning out and engaging me. We will need conservatives to do more this election than ever before. E-mail, letters, phone calls, knocking on doors, putting up signs, and engaging disaffected voters will be critical to the victory. Our nation has a choice. Socialism, continued corruption, and dependence. Or individual freedom and liberty. I need your help. Please volunteer and if you can donate, please do so. Your funds will be wisely spent in our campaign.
I look forward to watching the political theater with the President today regarding health care. The American people have it right. Start over. Stop jamming this through. We do not want socialism. I look forward to seeing folks in Rio Rancho today.
We had a great day meeting with folks at the NM Agricultural Expo in Portales. New Mexicans realize that more government control is not the answer. Individual responsibility is the answer. Thank you Portales.
I watched Rep. Lujan’s comment that the “public option” is alive from Senator Harry Reid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUVlbGYnmiE&feature=player_embedded
This is more of the same irresponsible spending and management from our Rep. He is not listening. Rep. Lujan, the numbers don’t add up. You know it . Nearly $ 2 Trillion dollars in new expenditures. No Tort-Lawsuit reform. No simplified portability. More costs to the taxpayers and more rationing of care to all of us. Rep. Lujan. Be honest with New Mexicans and seniors. You have a responsibility to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Your votes and your statements fail to be consistent with the Constitution and they clearly are irresponsible. There is a difference between health care and how we pay for it (health insurance). We must add reform that allows transparency and “ownership” in the cost structure where the consumer-patient and their families know what the costs of procedures should be. With the third-party payer system or a single payer system, we will not be able to control costs no matter how wishful the government. We need competition in the market, which the government cannot offer.
I look forward to debating Rep. Lujan on the important issues facing all Americans and how to pay for these items.
My condolences to Ben Trujillo’s wife Percy and their family. What a tragic accident. Our prayers are with you.
The rough weather caused our candidate forum in Santa Fe last night to be canceled. We have rescheduled for next Monday, March 1st. Please plan to attend the NM EIB CO2 public comment session that day (March 1st), and then join us for a lively candidate forum. Remember to vote in your local elections! Competition gives you the voter/consumer the best candidate/product.
Tomorrow, the NM Legislature will try again to pass a responsible budget. Have you ever noticed that when inclement weather causes closings that government workers continue to get paid? In the private sector, your pay is dependent upon actually being able to work to produce wealth. I know that all of us would prefer to get paid and not actually have to work, but given the budget challenges, I think that these days would effectively be furlough days wouldn’t they? We must cut spending at the state and national level.
Another “Stimulus” jobs bill is being pushed through Congress. New Senator Scott Brown has sided with the Democrat majority. Have the petals fallen off the rose? Senator Brown can you explain the Constitutionality of your vote. Please? Rep. Lujan will be holding a credit card town hall phone call tonight. Every one loves to abuse the banking industry. Whenever the government attempts to control prices and to control the market (for credit in this instance), there are unforeseen consequences. Interest rates on credit cards are up. Credit is harder to obtain and costs consumers more. The cure is responsible use by each of us of our short term credit. If Congress is mandating paying down the principal on credit cards for each of us…..will they actually pay down some of our debt principal as a nation? Can they given their irresponsible management of our money?
As interest rates rise, our nation’s debt burden will skyrocket beyond its already historic level. Combined with the entitlement spending, the value of the US Dollar will decline. We need a responsible Congressman in Washington. I believe that I have the common sense to reduce wasteful spending and reduce the regulatory burden that is hampering private sector job growth.
We are on our way to Portales for a few days (once again driving through an ice-snow storm) for the Agricultural Expo. I look forward to visiting with folks there. May God bless you and keep you and your family safe.
Wow! What a day. We attended the Sandoval County and Santa Fe County Pre-Primary Conventions and had our letters read in Quay, Colfax, Curry, & Rio Arriba. We arrived at the Bernalillo County Convention after most of the activity had been completed. There was great attendance and great passion in all of the delegate activity at each convention. An enormous thank you to all of you who have supported my campaign effort to date. As always, campaign contributions are appreciated, or you can donate on-line.
I look forward to speaking with each of the elected delegates to the State GOP convention on March 13th in the coming days to answer any questions you may have regarding my philosophy or my views on important matters. Thank you again for the opportunity to earn your vote and serve you as your next Congressman.
I had the pleasure of attending the Sacred Heart Catholic School mass celebrated by Bishop Wall this morning. The students did such a fine job and congratulations to Mrs. Reese as the outstanding teacher of the year for the Diocese of Gallup. We all pray that the vandals who recently damaged the parish and the school will be brought to justice.
I would like to thank Gary Risley, Rod Montoya, and the San Juan County GOP for hosting-moderating the CD3 candidate forum this evening in Farmington. My understanding is that the video of the entire debate will be available for viewing soon. We had about 150 folks there. Thank you for attending. This really is the people’s seat and I am excited to be your next Congressman in Washington.
Tomorrow, Saturday the 20th, the remaining GOP county conventions will be held. The counties of Quay, Curry, Rio Arriba, Colfax, Sandoval, and Santa Fe will be attended by either myself or via a letter offering my regrets for being unable to personally attend. I am honored that my letter will be read in Curry County by former Lt. Governor Walter Bradley and in Quay County by State Representative Dennis Roch. I look forward to greeting voters and potential delegates personally in Sandoval County and Santa Fe County.
I look forward to personally visiting with the 140+ delegates from the 3rd Congressional District in the coming days. Please keep all the candidates and their supporters/delegates in your prayers as they travel tomorrow.
Rio Rancho and Sandoval County will decide this November election. Those of you who have recently moved into the area, please ask your neighbors if they have registered with the clerk. We will need all conservatives to be at the polls in order to take this seat back for the people.
I had the opportunity to visit with Rep. Lujan at the Rio Rancho Visionaries breakfast yesterday. I remain astonished that simple questions require a five (5) minute answer. We were warmly received by the group. Young professionals around CD3, I ask that you become more involved in your community in whatever passion moves you. Our sense of community is created by how we deal with one another. Reach out to those you meet and tell them about your thoughts and ideas for improving our country. Contact the Rio Rancho Chamber for more information.
Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting with Rio Rancho council candidates, magistrate judge candidates, and of course mayoral candidates. Local elections will be March 2nd. Early voting is available. http://www.ci.rio-rancho.nm.us/index.aspx?nid=1434
The US Treasury Department released the January 2010 statement. $ 42 Billion deficit for January 2010. http://www.fms.treas.gov/mts/mts0110.pdf We must reduce our spending. This cannot go on indefinitely.
Tonight, Union and Los Alamos Counties hold their Republican pre-primary nominating conventions. I ask you for your vote and support. Friday at 6 pm at the Totah Theater in Farmington, my primary opponent and I will be answering questions on why we should be your choice to represent you in Washington. I hope to see many of you there.
It is hard to be in three (3) places at once. My thanks to all Republicans who turned out for the two (2) county conventions held tonight in Gallup and Portales. I appreciate everyone’s time and support and regret that I could not be there in person this evening.
It was my pleasure to speak this evening with the Republican party of Santa Fe County, my primary opponent’s home county. We discussed the current regulatory environment and the need to actually reign in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the federal agency that is driving many of the New Mexico Environmental Department’s heavy handed policies. It was interesting to note that Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, Jr. was speaking to the Sierra club about the benefits of Cap & Trade in Santa Fe this evening at Santa Fe Prep. I look forward to debating Rep. Lujan on his misguided votes and the rationale for his decisions on not only Cap & Trade, but also Stimulus, budgetary approvals/silence, bailouts, & health care.
Financial contributions are always appreciated and can be accepted online. Please join our team to win back New Mexico for the new Republican Party of Knowledge.
