Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 2:24 pm

Since we are having a little trouble electronically filing our campaign report.  I wanted to make sure this information is available to the public and interested parties.  The Mullins For Congress campaign:  FEC # C00469445 from October 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.

Total Contributions:  $ 45,274.00

Total Expenses:  $ 14,300.64

Cash on Hand:  $ 30,973.36

No PAC contributions.  We will blog post once we successfully have our report electronically filed.  I want to thank my volunteer Treasurer Tom Dugan and volunteer Assistant Treasurer David Drake.  Thank you to those who have contributed to our campaign.  Without your help we could not win this seat for the people of New Mexico.  As I always say, it is not how much money you raise, but how efficiently you spend your money that counts.  I promise to utilize your funds wisely not only in this campaign, but your tax dollars as well in Washington.

New Mexico - Defend Your Freedom

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 5:29 pm

A state legislator has asked me to get the word out to concerned New Mexicans regarding two (2) house bills that will take away your freedom and dramatically impact everyone’s lives.  These are State House bills:  House Bill # 27  http://legis.state.nm.us/lcs/_session.aspx?Chamber=H&LegType=B&LegNo=27&year=10, and House Bill # 78 http://legis.state.nm.us/lcs/_session.aspx?Chamber=H&LegType=B&LegNo=78&year=10

These bills will be heard in the House Energy and Natural Resources Committee (HELD ON THE HOUSE FLOOR !) on Monday, February 1st at 8 AM.  Public Comment will be taken!

We cannot give the State Government the authority to take away our private property rights and our right to exhale.  Please let your friends and fellow patriots know that we need their support.  If we remain silent, we will be ruled by governmental tyranny.  Your help is needed on Monday, February 1st in Santa Fe at 8 am.

Please e-mail this around.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP)

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 8:44 am

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released the “advanced estimate” for the 4th Quarter GDP figures.  http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/2010/pdf/gdp4q09_adv.pdf

What has always surprised me is that Government Spending is included in GDP calculations.  What these figures since WW2 tell us is that government has continued to grow and expand.  If you believe that government spending does not have to be paid for by the private sector then this figure means something.

We must remember that there is no free lunch.  Every dollar spent in your benefit by those in elected office must be taken from the private sector or borrowed from future private industry profits.  Profit is not a four-letter word.

The drive from Clovis to Santa Fe yesterday was rather exciting given the snow-icestorm.  We look forward to catching up with the High Plains Patriots and the other good folks in the Eastern portion of the congressional district soon.

Santo Domingo, Santa Fe, & Farmington

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 9:20 am

The past couple of days we have been in Farmington and Santa Fe, along with a brief visit for the annual Governor’s blessing for the nineteen (19) pueblos at the Kewa.  There were many dignitaries and it was an honor to introduce myself.   We attended a wonderful luncheon meet & greet, followed by attending the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative banquet and met many business owners in the congressional district who are frustrated with the lack of understanding by Washington on what makes businesses function.  Profit.  No profit, no ability to pay taxes at any level.  I hope the Governor and our legislators were listening as well.

We met with GOP legislators at another evening event.  I am proud to support Marco Gonzales for Secretary of State and now Errol Chavez for State Auditor.  The party of knowledge will be represented well in this next election.

Gary Montoya has decided to run for the Public Regulation Commission Seat District 4, instead of Congress.  I want to thank him for his endorsement on the radio in Farmington, and I encourage everyone to sign Gary’s petition and contribute $ 5.00 to allow him to qualify for this publicly financed campaign.  The PRC seat directly regulates businesses and insurance companies in New Mexico.  In order to change the culture of corruption, we must bring new representation into office and Gary will be a wonderful commissioner.

Late last night, We drove to Clovis for the High Plains Patriots meeting.  www.highplainspatriots.com for tonight (28th) with speaker Stephen Broden (Lyceum Theater)…….but now we have a terrible blizzard and ice storm.  The meeting may be canceled, but the patriot spirit cannot be diminished by a little inclement weather.

New Mexicans, we must stand up and continue our fight for freedom.  We may be slowed by the weather and by bureaucratic red tape, but we must resolve to take back Washington for the people.  Get to know your candidates at all levels of government.  2010 will be the year of the party of know.

Comment on the President’s speech

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:09 pm

The President lied to the American people tonight. The people are not fooled by the growth in government pushed by this administration. The solution to our economic problem is to empower individuals and the private sector to create jobs, not stimulate more government. New Mexicans are all members of the party of knowledge and we know better days will require us to protect the Constitution and we know we cannot trust these politicians in Washington. Remember that you the tax payer are paying for these promises and proposals, not the President. The government cannot control the market, or education, or success with promises and mandates. Our founding fathers would be disappointed that the President has doubled down on socialism this evening.

Defend Life

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 12:13 pm

It was an honor for me to attend the rally for life and traditional values in Santa Fe on Friday.  There were powerful testimonials and speakers for defending life.  I enjoyed meeting so many New Mexicans who are willing to defend life of the the innocent unborn.  Christians of all faiths were represented and the Traditional Values Action Committee http://tvacnm.com/ was involved along with many right to life organizations.

Santa Fe Pro-Life rally

The rough weather delayed some but Mass at the Cathedral was packed and I was proud to march to the Capitol with approximately 1,500 folks to rally for life.  As former Congressman Bill Redmond stated, the Declaration of Independence has many important lines, but “endowed by their Creator” must be defended.  Life is a creation of God.  I am proud to defend life and the traditional values of marriage.  Legislation dithering around domestic partnerships is an assault upon traditional values.  It is a back door to gay marriage.  We must no longer remain silent when we are demonized for supporting traditional values and beliefs.  We cannot advocate any violence but we must articulate our belief in the sancitity of marriage between one man and one woman throughout recorded history.

I encourage you to sign the Manhattan Declaration as have I.  http://www.manhattandeclaration.org/the-declaration

The Constitution defends our right to life, liberty, and secure property.  We must stand proudly to defend life and not allow governments to sanction the killing of innocent life.

Disapproval Resolution - EPA Fix ?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 12:26 am

Senator Murkowski (AK) offered her Disapproval Resolution today.  http://murkowski.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=7a4b5017-15eb-41ff-922b-6ae3975cbe87

As your Congressman, I would be fighting tooth and nail to rein in the EPA on this matter.  I have asked Congressman Lujan where he sits on this, he has yet to respond……

Water Rights - Federal Government - Pueblos Benefit

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 11:51 pm

H.R. 3342 Aamodt Litigation Settlement Act - http://www.govtrack.us/data/us/111/bills.cbo/h3342.pdf

Passed 249 to 153

H.R. 3254: Taos Pueblo Indian Water Rights Settlement Act - http://www.govtrack.us/data/us/111/bills.cbo/h3254.pdf

Passed 254 to 158

It is good see that long standing water disputes can be settled.  There is no doubt that the five (5) pueblos involved and Santa Fe will receive funds.  The challenge we have as the American people is paying the bill for these items and so many others that are requested/promised/needed.  The question must be asked if the Federal Government is responsible for the payment of these funds to resolve this matter?  Is this Constitutional?

A few dollars here, a few dollars there.  Soon it runs up a tremendous deficit (trillions of dollars).  Let us follow the money on this to ensure tax payers receive their promised return and the Pueblos the promised benefit.  Note the timeline of expenditures and construction detailed in the CBO reports.

The snow storm caused the Los Alamos meeting to be canceled this evening at 7:30 pm.  I look forward to returning to Los Alamos in the near future and discussing energy matters with folks and asking you for your vote and support.  Give yourself plenty of time to drive to your destination and plenty of space between you and the driver ahead of you.  We saw quite a few accidents traveling from Farmington today.

Farmington & Gallup

Three (3) straight days of snow and sleet.  New Mexico needs the moisture.  The cold weather across the country has helped to stabilize natural gas prices so important to our economy.  We continue to travel around the state in this inclement weather meeting hardy New Mexicans who are universally energized over the victory by State Senator Scott Brown in the Massachusetts Senate race.

These are the people’s seats.  We met with hardy Republicans in McKinley county last night and this county is going to surprise the establishment expectations in November.  A sincere thank you to those who attended and will be leading the Republican effort there.

See you in Los Alamos tonight!
