Farmington - San Juan County HQ Opening

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 10:07 am

Yesterday was a busy day with an hour long sit down on 1390 KENN Radio’s Morning program (S&M), followed by a wonderful visit with supporters during a lunch fundraising event.  Thank you.

The evening was topped off by greeting nearly 200 people at the Grand Opening of the San Juan County GOP Victory Mullins For Congress Joint Headquarters, located at 4910 E. Main Street (Next to the Target Store).  Please come down and volunteer or pick up yard signs and other candidate materials.  Working together, volunteering together, we can ensure that we are finally represented in Washington.  I want to be your Representative, not a politician.  We must confront the Progressive agenda which continues to grow government and stifle individual liberty and opportunity.  I am merely the tip of the spear in this struggle.  You the people are the force.  The people will win this battle.

As members of the party of Knowledge, we must, we will, we absolutely have to stand up for our Freedom and the Constitution of the United States of America.  Thank you again for your support.  Pray for me that I find the right words and the right moment to speak such that the people will hear the sound of Freedom in their hearts.  God Bless You.

Taos Fiesta - Santa Ana Pueblo

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 6:48 am

Summertime in New Mexico is filled with cultural events.  I enjoyed the Taos Fiesta and Parade on Sunday with many folks and a brief stop at Santa Ana Pueblo to celebrate their feast day.

With 98 days until the election, our pace of travel continues to pick-up.  With only a few weeks until school is back in session, many New Mexicans have been traveling the Northern portion of New Mexico enjoying vacations close to home.  Gasoline and Diesel fuel prices along with the lack of jobs have been brought up by the voters.  Policies proposed by the current adminstration and supported by Rep. Lujan may increase fuel prices to $ 7.00 per gallon.  Private sector jobs continue to be scarce due to small business concerns with the end of year tax increase and additional health care mandates for providing coverage.

Today, I look forward to seeing many supporters here in San Juan County as we open our office on East Main Street in Farmington.  The Grand Opening is from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, 4910 East Main Street.  It is located right next to the Target Store.  Please stop in and say hello tonight, meeting local and state wide candidates.  You can sign up to phone bank and volunteer for our victory effort.  See you tonight!

Las Vegas & Mora

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 8:00 am

I enjoyed visiting with voters in Las Vegas at the candidate rally, the annual Biker events, and around town.  Voters are tired of Ruling Class politics and believe in Working Class representation.  San Miguel County and Mora County originally were Republican counties.  The culture of dependence and corruption cannot continue when good people stand up and become involved.  Rep. Lujan remains silent about increasing our taxes.  His silence and inaction continue his out of touch Ruling Class representation.  I will speak for everyone in Washington.  I ask for your help and support.

The Mora Fiesta Parade was a huge event!  I was excited to participate and wish to thank Susan, Lonnie, Frank, and the many Mora County supporters who helped us with this event.  We handed out over 500 copies of the Constitution and I received a warm welcome from many many people celebrating the day.  The rain stayed away long enough for me to walk back through town and greet everyone who was making a complete day of the fiesta events including the rodeo.  The main concern was jobs.  Jobs and the economy continue to be everyone’s fear and biggest concern.  Our Federal Government continues to blindly proceed creating new red tape, destructive job killing regulations, and fostering an anti-business environment.  The private sector jobs will come when you “remove the boot” from the neck of our business community.

Thank you again for your financial support and grass roots activities.  To all of our children and young families….I pray that you become more engaged in this election season to ensure that your voice is heard.  We have little time to correct the tax and spend culture that dominates our Federal Government.  May God Bless Everyone!

Dulce & Jemez Electric Cooperative

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 8:31 am

This past weekend, we traveled a number of miles and met almost a thousand voters in the district at the 52nd Annual Little Beaver Parade in Dulce, and at the annual Jemez Mountain Electric Cooperative Annual Picnic and meeting held north of Jemez Springs.  I was warmly received at both events and had the opportunity to answer individual questions directly from the people.  I want to thank our volunteers who went the extra distance to help me at these events.

With 106 days until the election, I can use your added assistance.  That assistance can be as a volunteer, sharing my name via e-mail or calling your personal rolodex, as well as financially.  We continue to focus our campaign fundraising efforts to ensure we have the resources to deliver a victory for the people.  As I continue to state on the campaign trail.  I do not want to be a politician.  I want to be your representative.  To me there is a difference.  I pray that I never forget the people who have placed their trust in me.

Tom Mullins Counters Luján Attack As Smoke Screen

Tom Mullins, Republican Candidate for the United States House of Representatives, 3rd Congressional District has countered Ben Luján’s recent charges of “racism” against him.

“I am dismayed, but no longer surprised, that the Luján campaign is leaving no stone unturned looking for a scrap of something Rep. Luján can take out of context to make an emotionally charged accusation against me.  One would almost think that I am the incumbent in this contest from the tenor and frequency of these attacks. However, it is Ben Lujan who has the record that needs to be scrutinized and Lujan’s attacks are nothing more than a smoke screen to forestall that scrutiny.  Ben Luján needs to explain to the citizens in the 3rd Congressional District where all the jobs are that the Democrats promised, why people continue to lose their homes, and why they cannot get any credit, rather than distracting attention from his own dismal record on these issues by trying to paint me in some negative light.

I frankly do not recall making any remark such as Ben Lujan alleges, but I can assure the members of the Kewa Pueblo, where I attended the ceremony, that I do remember feeling a deep sense of humility that I was able to be there and share their age old sacred traditions and the sense of community that the ceremony represented.  I was honored to be in attendance and I could have only been thinking how fortunate I was to be there, and that it was regrettable that more whites, like myself, do not have or take up this same opportunity.  I truly believe that it is through sharing traditions and cultural experiences that people of all races grow in their understanding and acceptance of one another.  I would feel very badly if I offended anyone at the Pueblo because they were extremely gracious and I was enormously appreciative of their hospitality.”

Mullins is a registered professional engineer and small business owner who is a first time candidate for elected office.  Mullins won the Republican primary to challenge freshman Congressman Ben Ray Luján, Jr for the 3rd Congressional seat.  The seat covers sixteen (16) counties in Northern and Eastern New Mexico, including the majority of the Pueblos in New Mexico, the Jicarilla Apache Nation, and the New Mexico portion of the Navajo Nation.

Santa Fe - Cochiti Pueblo

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 8:26 am

Yesterday, I recorded a taped interview with Diane Kinderwater on her program issues and answers (KCHF TV - Channel 11) in Santa Fe.  When I have verified the schedule for airing, I will publish that here.  I look forward to debating the real issues facing our nation with Rep. Lujan and I remain hopeful that the citizens will receive the opportunity to hear us discuss our solutions.

I had the opportunity to visit Cochiti Pueblo and honor their annual feast day celebration yesterday.  The 3rd Congressional District, like the rest of New Mexico, has tremendous cultural diversity.  It is an honor for me to listen, learn, and participate in our diverse culture.  My daughters enjoyed the ceremonial dancing and we appreciated our brief introduction with the Governor.  I look forward to representing all cultures in Washington as your next representative.

I anticipate in the coming days that the campaign rhetoric will become heated in this race.  I ask for your prayers and strength to remain strong and defend common sense conservative values.

$ 68 Billion additional monthly deficit.  Borrowings are more than $ 200 Billion for the month.  We must get a handle upon our deficit spending.  This will require difficult choices which will require all Americans to share in the solution.

Viva La Fiesta - Espanola - Parade

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 6:36 am

I really enjoyed the Espanola parade yesterday.  The route took about an hour to walk.  I have to say that both Susana Martinez, John Sanchez, Diana Duran, and myself received a great deal of support.  Our volunteers handed out copies of the U.S. Constitution, cards, and candy.  After this event, I walked around the plaza, meeting more voters who are frustrated with what they termed a corrupt establishment which disregards their wishes.

I want to give a special thank you to volunteers who assisted us, as well as the Rio Arriba County GOP.  Thank you!

This week, our June 30th campaign finance report, will be published and comparisons made about the competitiveness of our race.  I continue to need your financial support and your prayers as we move closer to November 2nd.  As in business, your cash flow is equivalent to your blood flow in your body.  Without positive cash flow your business will end.  I appreciate any and all contributions to our campaign from $ 25, to $ 250, or more.  Thank you for your generousity.  May God continue to bless each of you in the days ahead.

Santa Fe - Espanola

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom Mullins @ 8:14 am

I enjoyed meeting with many voters in Santa Fe at the Santa Fe Fire Fighter’s Family Fun Day.  The weather was wonderful and the smoke demonstration trailer was truly useful to explain to young children the method to safely leave the home during a fire.  The Fire Fighters and others tested themselves on the push-up and pull-up tests.  Amazing.  It reminded me that I need to continue to work out and stay fit in this challenging endeavor.

I attended mass in Espanola yesterday afternoon and visited the Fiesta events meeting many great New Mexicans.  I remain blessed to meet such wonderful people concerned about the economy, the way our federal government is recklessly spending money, and who have not seen the jobs that have been promised them.

I am hopeful that the new BP “top hat” will succeed in collecting a greater percentage of the oil from the blow-out in the Gulf of Mexico.  This disaster has harmed our entire nation.  We will hold BP accountable for their errors and actions, but we must not overreact upon the many oil and gas companies that continue to develop these needed minerals on our public lands in the west.  Balance is always needed.

Viva La Fiesta!  I hope to see many of you today in Espanola at the Fiesta Parade.  God Bless You!
